I am consistently impressed by the linguistic reality that, in the ancient languages of the Bible, the words for justice are also those for righteousness. The idea being that it is the alignment with the concept of what is Right that consequentially results in Justice…the antecedent produces the consequent…by design!
Perhaps my favorite scripture is the admonition in Micah 6:8 that summarizes obligation of man: to do justice and love mercy. That is, you must do justice even while pursuing mercy. You cannot flip these: "do mercy, and love justice" is the satanic inversion that feels good but produces ruin; once the law is broken there must be consequences or the law does not exist, which is unjust to others, but mercy mitigates and guides for the individual who must suffer under the law.
While sinful man continues, we will continue to live under human law, which by design and natural order flows from divine Law; we blessed by the grace (unmerited favor) of the Lamb to receive mercy by His fulfillment of the requirements of divine Law, but not all want to take the steps and changes that reflect that mercy, and so reject it in favor of suffering under the consequences of divine law. Similarly, those who are unwilling to take the steps and changes that would enable mitigation under human law must suffer the consequences.
