And, this is peachy keen with the folks getting the cheap rent who vote for these clowns.
But, the city is not a decent landlord. NYC is already in debt up to its eyeballs. How can the city borrow enough money to fix the deteriorating buildings? So, the new regime will merely make everything worse.
The Park Avenue folks will relocate to Florida and take the tax revenue with them. Then Mamdani can confiscate those buildings and move the poor folks into those spaces.
This is precisely why Communism is a losing proposition. The only winners are the leaders who vote themselves higher salaries due to their brilliance as managers. Mamdani has already increased his pay if you will recall. He knows how the game is played.
The key is supply and demand in a free enterprise system. Landlords must be able to set rents suitable for maintaining the property. Mamdani did not invent rent control in NYC, he just doubled down on a losing Leftist proposition.
Capitalism will solve this problem. Bankruptcy is the answer and it is just a matter of time. Look at Venezuela. When things get bad enough, we just pluck out the commie leadership and insert a Capitalist who knows how successful operations thrive. Business booms and the citizens are employed in money making enterprises. The government gets revenue the good old American way.
Communism tries to leave out the money making part. Humans work to own property and they have to earn money to buy property. No government can do that for them. This is a personal thing. That is why we have “personal property”. It is protected by our Constitution. That, by the way, is why Communists ignore it.

Mamdani isn’t after Park Avenue…yet. Those Communists go after the low hanging fruit first.
Rent control is the driving force in the low income areas. By controlling the rent at super low rates, they create a situation where the building owners cannot afford to improve their properties. Then, the city ups the property taxes so the owners cannot afford to pay the taxes. This opens the door for the Commies to confiscate the buildings. And, this is peachy keen with the folks getting the cheap rent who vote for these clowns.
But, the city is not a decent landlord. NYC is already in debt up to its eyeballs. How can the city borrow enough money to fix the deteriorating buildings? So, the new regime will merely make everything worse.
The Park Avenue folks will relocate to Florida and take the tax revenue with them. Then Mamdani can confiscate those buildings and move the poor folks into those spaces.
This is precisely why Communism is a losing proposition. The only winners are the leaders who vote themselves higher salaries due to their brilliance as managers. Mamdani has already increased his pay if you will recall. He knows how the game is played.
The key is supply and demand in a free enterprise system. Landlords must be able to set rents suitable for maintaining the property. Mamdani did not invent rent control in NYC, he just doubled down on a losing Leftist proposition.
Capitalism will solve this problem. Bankruptcy is the answer and it is just a matter of time. Look at Venezuela. When things get bad enough, we just pluck out the commie leadership and insert a Capitalist who knows how successful operations thrive. Business booms and the citizens are employed in money making enterprises. The government gets revenue the good old American way.
Communism tries to leave out the money making part. Humans work to own property and they have to earn money to buy property. No government can do that for them. This is a personal thing. That is why we have “personal property”. It is protected by our Constitution. That, by the way, is why Communists ignore it.

By the way, this is precisely why Trump was so very polite and accommodating to Mamdani. He knows failure is imminent. So, why not just let it happen? It is called “Tough love”. Trump loves NYC but he has no control over the stupid voters. He has to let them hang themselves with their own rope.
Watch as Trump fails to bail out that crazy city. He may send in troops to stop the violence, because the voters are likely to be really pissed off as this evolves.
