Biden administration releases records to GOP-led panel probing COVID "Wuhan lab leak" theory
The Health and Human Services (HHS) Department has released 900 pages of records to the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, according to an HHS official, as the Republican-led panel launches its review of the Biden administration's handling of the pandemic crisis.
Committee chairman Rep. Brad Wenstrup, Republican of Ohio, had requested records from the agency, including from National Institutes of Health Director Dr. Francis Collins, former White House COVID adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Beccera. The panel, which was previously controlled by Democrats, said it is probing whether COVID-19 originated from a lab in Wuhan, China and the Chinese Communist Party covered it up, as well as whether U.S. taxpayer dollars were being sent to the lab.
The committee requested phone records, calendars and dozens of sets of internal records from top federal health officials. Though HHS did not specify what records it shared with the panel Tuesday evening, an agency spokesperson told CBS News, "The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is committed to working in good faith to address the Select Subcommittee's oversight requests."
Wenstrup told CBS News he will consider subpoenas against Fauci, Becerra and other key officials, if full responses and answers are not provided to the panel's questions about COVID-19's origins and the federal agencies' response to the outbreak.
"I think there will be subpoenas for some," Wenstrup said. "Just being honest with you — I would hope that we don't have to do it very often."
The theory of a Wuhan "lab leak" has been previously argued by Senate Republicans and has been a particular focus of GOP congressional investigators and some cable news talk segments. — CBS News
Our Take: “Kinda feels like the dam, built on a Matrix of Falsehoods regarding the origins of the COVID-19 Pandemic, is failing.
Catastrophically … for [them].” — Just Human
MVCS girls basketball forfeits playoff game rather than compete against team with transgender player
The Mid Vermont Christian School girls basketball team withdrew from the Vermont Division IV state tournament because of a refusal to play against an opponent with a transgender student-athlete.
The No. 12 seed Eagles were scheduled to play a first-round game at No. 5 seed Long Trail on Tuesday night, but their withdrawal forfeited the game to the Mountain Lions.
“We believe playing against an opponent with a biological male jeopardizes the fairness of the game and the safety of our players,” MVCS head of school Vicky Fogg wrote in an email to the Valley News on Wednesday evening. “Allowing biological males to participate in women’s sports sets a bad precedent for the future of women’s sports in general.”
Fogg declined a request for an interview. — Valley News
Our Take: “This is fantastic and exactly what parents would've done the whole time in a braver world.
If your daughter's coach isn't doing this, the coach doesn't care about your kid. And parents should have these coaches' backs.
This is what standing up looks like.
People are going to call you names. Your kid might not get to win the championship. But refusing to sacrifice your principles and your kid's safety is a bigger win long-term.
This issue is worth that sort of sacrifice.” — Chris Paul
Forensic Investigator John Thaler Joins Brannon Howse Following EXPLOSIVE Claims That Sinaloa Cartel Uses Bribes, Money Laundering To Control Maricopa County Elections
Attorney John Thaler joined Brannon Howse with former Arizona State Representative Mark Finchem Friday night on Lindell TV to explain the alleged phony mortgage and real estate transaction scam used by the Sinaloa Cartel to bribe elected officials and control the state of Arizona.
The Sinaloa Cartels and the treasonous Americans who work with them are destroying our country by flooding Arizona with dangerous drugs and crime.
The Gateway Pundit reported that Tempe Police seized over 30 million lethal doses of fentanyl. In 2022, the DEA nationwide seized over 50.6 million deadly fentanyl-laced fake prescription pills and over 10,000 pounds of fentanyl powder, half of which came from Arizona. “I want to be crystal clear. The drugs that are flooding Arizona every single day are sourced primarily by one evil entity, the Sinaloa Drug Cartel,” said Phoenix DEA Special Agent in Charge Cheri Oz.
If the new findings are accurate, this could explain why our government allows them to operate in the United States.
The Gateway Pundit reported that the Arizona Senate and House Elections Committees held a joint special meeting on Thursday and heard an explosive presentation by Breger, which, if true, exposed information regarding massive corruption and collusion between American politicians, appointed government officials, and the Sinaloa Cartels. — The Gateway Pundit
Our Take: “Thaler appears to have uncovered a massive and wide-spread collusion scheme between the cartels and Deep State politics and government here in the US.
The implications of this discovery are sweeping and massive.
Of course, there has been no official involvement in this investigation, which may never come.
Where is the DOJ, the FBI, State Police?
This itself is evidence for the negligent status of the various agencies of justice in our country. The inner workings of a bribery money laundering scheme that benefits cabal actors through the use of bought-and-paid-for public sector actors (politicians, judges, cops, etc) is a powerful window into how the engines of corruption work.
Most, if not all of this, is made possible by the near total lack of good actors entering these institutions to include the formation of policies and legislation that would help counter these schemes.
There is much to learn from the work of John Thaler et al. No doubt this exposition will continue to make its way through the alternative media so that WE THE PEOPLE can take steps to defend our rights and freedoms.” — Justin Deschamps
Judge won’t unseal details of Trump's privilege fight over Jan. 6 grand jury
A federal judge has rejected a bid by two news outlets to obtain access to details of former President Donald Trump’s efforts to block testimony by aides to a grand jury investigating his effort to derail the transfer of power after the 2020 election.
In a ruling on Thursday, Chief Judge Beryl Howell of the U.S. District Court in Washington said a federal court rule mandating grand jury secrecy precluded the release of court opinions and other filings about disputes she has ruled on behind closed doors.
“Accordingly, [the grand jury secrecy rule] does not permit such disclosure, at least for now and perhaps forever, and so petitioners’ applications are denied,” Howell wrote in a 32-page opinion.
POLITICO and The New York Times had both petitioned Howell to unseal portions of the grand jury proceedings in October, citing the historic nature of the secret rulings she had issued. The Justice Department opposed the unsealing, prompting Howell’s decision. — Politico
Our Take: “The New York Times and POLITICO have their own reasons for wanting access to these filings, but of course, we also want to see them and learn more about this battle. It doesn't just concern Trump, but also Pence and other members of the first Trump Administration.
What I find most interesting about the judge’s ruling are these comments,
“Redacting information in those materials would not sufficiently uphold that secrecy because matters occurring before the grand jury are so deeply intertwined with non-secret information would prove useless, or worse, misleading.”
She is saying that, even with redactions, the unsealing of the filings would provide enough information for people to sleuth through the material and discern who the targets of the grand jury are … or worse, to mislead people about who the targets are.
I take this as further indication that the targets probably ARE NOT who the public and press popularly believes them to be.” — Just Human
Alone and Exploited, Migrant Children Work Brutal Jobs Across the U.S.
These workers are part of a new economy of exploitation: Migrant children, who have been coming into the United States without their parents in record numbers, are ending up in some of the most punishing jobs in the country, a New York Times investigation found. This shadow work force extends across industries in every state, flouting child labor laws that have been in place for nearly a century. Twelve-year-old roofers in Florida and Tennessee. Underage slaughterhouse workers in Delaware, Mississippi and North Carolina. Children sawing planks of wood on overnight shifts in South Dakota.
Largely from Central America, the children are driven by economic desperation that was worsened by the pandemic. This labor force has been slowly growing for almost a decade, but it has exploded since 2021, while the systems meant to protect children have broken down.
The Times spoke with more than 100 migrant child workers in 20 states who described jobs that were grinding them into exhaustion, and fears that they had become trapped in circumstances they never could have imagined. The Times examination also drew on court and inspection records and interviews with hundreds of lawyers, social workers, educators and law enforcement officials. — The New York Times
Our Take: “The immigrant situation helps no one but bad actors. The horror these kids are experiencing as a result of open border policies is sobering to say the least.
The economy suffers because money for labor goes to people who are themselves often forced to send it abroad. The local economy suffers due to artificially cheap labor. The immigrants obviously suffer due to horrific conditions.
So who benefits?
The cartels benefit by being paid to orchestrate the entire scheme, but they are likely working for Deep State globalist actors who have schemes that require destabilization of the economy in the US. These are the real benefactors.
International bankers and pirates developed economic warfare strategies ages ago.
These strategies were greatly enhanced approximately 800 to 1000 years ago, which saw the rise of the first well aligned pirate-merchant-banking cartels meant to gain total control over a nation-state's or city-state's economy. The methods are incredibly effective, producing increased dependency on foreign-private credit and international shipping schemes to maintain economic prosperity within affected nations.
What we're witnessing now is a very old and extremely effective modern form of cultural-economic warfare designed to destroy local economic prosperity, confidence, and productivity—all while making that same economy more dependent on the bankers, who simultaneously push consumer bread and circus to keep the people addicted and dependent. The walls close in while we happily lap up globalist distractions.
Eventually, the hammer will come down, and it will either utterly destroy the economy (think Weimar Republic) or it will weaken it enough that the government can, on behalf of the people, procure bailouts (think IMF) that further give control to the globalists. All of this should be a lesson in community-first independent economic methods, the same the founders used to realize incredible economic prosperity.” — Justin Deschamps
