Now, onto the news from the Weekend that Was …
Former Hunter Biden associate Devon Archer has the 'opportunity to be a hero' in testimony: Rep. James Comer
Our Take: “The highly anticipated appearance of Devon Archer before the House Oversight committee has been rescheduled four times. The fifth is scheduled for today, but it too may be pushed as Saturday, the DOJ asked the judge to set a surrender date in Archer’s unrelated case.
Archer lost his appeal last week in US v. Devon Archer, and the DOJ wasted no time moving the process along. The unusual Saturday filing by the DOJ asks for a response from Archer’s counsel by Wednesday. Archer is expected to testify about Joe Biden’s involvement in Hunter’s overseas business deals, with some outlets speculating that he will ‘put Joe in the room.’
This testimony is expected to prove that Joe Biden has repeatedly lied about his involvement in the Biden racketeering enterprise, a confirmation that many hope will finally force House Republicans to initiate impeachment proceedings against the illegitimate so-called ruler.
The timing of the DOJ filing is suspicious, but given the Wednesday deadline, it may not impact Archer’s testimony. That said, House Oversight Chair James Comer did the media rounds Sunday, declaring that this is further evidence of the weaponized DOJ blocking and tackling for criminal in the White House.
We will see if Devon actually shows up later today, or if the weekend’s developments delay the testimony for a fifth time.” —
DOJ Denies Trying To Jail Hunter Biden Witness Before Tomorrow's Testimony
The DOJ has responded to allegations that they want Hunter Biden witness Devon Archer arrested before tomorrow's testimony, saying in a statement:
"To be clear, the Government does not request (and has never requested) that the defendant surrender before his Congressional testimony," reads a Sunday night filing. "For the avoidance of all doubt, the Government requests that any surrender date, should the Court order one, be scheduled to occur after the defendant’s Congressional testimony is completed." — ZeroHedge
Our Take: “Our own
is fond of the refrain, ‘Understand > Reacting.’ It may not be revolutionary, but it’s effective. Most in this community—and certainly most reading Badlands Media—understand that we’re in the midst of a PsyWar between Deep State Globalists and their media apparatus and sovereign-minded patriots. That said, sometimes we can drink the Narrative kool aid and allow ourselves to be whipped up into a frenzy along pre-set psychological lines.
Case-in-point, MANY in the MAGA movement reacted to narratives regarding Devin Archer and the DOJ over the weekend that, while they may or may not come to pass, forward Net Effects that are largely positive, as in, they forward the storylines Donald Trump and his allies are pushing in 2023, it’s worth defecting from the sensationalism when you find yourself getting carried along the emotional currents the Info War foments.
When you zoom out, the Archer deployments take on tantalizing potential shape:
The Weaponization of the DOJ Narrative continues to gain momentum AND Archer will testify.
Win-win?” —
Federal judge dismisses Trump's nearly half-billion dollar lawsuit against CNN
A federal judge on Friday dismissed former President Donald Trump’s $475 million defamation lawsuit against CNN.
In the lawsuit, Trump's legal team argued that the news outlet's statements about him likened him to Adolf Hitler and were defamatory, according to Politico.
Trump-appointed U.S. District Judge Raag Singhal ruled that Trump could not sue the outlet for defamation.
“Being ‘Hitler-like’ is not a verifiable statement of fact that would support a defamation claim,” Singhal wrote in the dismissal. “CNN’s statements, while repugnant, were not, as a matter of law, defamatory.”
Trump's lawsuit cited five examples of the use of the term "The Big Lie" that his attorneys say CNN has refused to retract.
The phrase has historically suggested "a propaganda technique so powerful that people who believe in its message could not believe that someone could have distorted it. It has popular origins in German from Adolf Hitler in his memoir, Mein Kampf," according to Politico.
Judge Singhal also added that bad rhetoric does not equate to defamation.” — Just the News
Our Take: “Defamation is extremely hard to prove and must include verifiably false statements. Now, CNN has made numerous false statements about 45, and this latest court ruling appears to raise the defamation bar even higher.
This judge ruled that CNN’s use of the Nazi trope ‘big lie,’ and their likening Trump to Adolph Hitler did not rise to the level of defamation. These references are ubiquitous in the mainstream narrative now, undeniably damaging the President’s character and reputation among the populace. They are verifiably false statements, but the judge dismissed them as ‘repugnant’ but not defamatory.
This is a chilling outcome that proves the regime media will never be held accountable for their election interference, and that they can openly defame political opponents without fear of repercussions. There are two standards of justice in this country, and it’s a dangerous time to stand against the regime. But that means it’s more important than ever to stand against the regime.” —
US Was Behind Both Crimean Bridge Attacks: Seymour Hersh
Legendary national security journalist Seymour Hersh has published a report this week alleging US intelligence helped the Ukrainians blow up the Kerch Bridge (or also, Crimean Bridge), which happened earlier this month and corresponded to President Putin refusing to renew the Black Sea Grain Initiative deal.
What's more is that Hersh's sources described that the US assisted in the initial, larger Kerch Bridge explosion which had initially temporarily disabled it in October 2022. "The Biden administration’s role in both attacks was vital," he wrote in a Thursday Substack investigative article. — ZeroHedge
Our Take: “Badlands discussed the Hersh report with frequency when it launched earlier this year, chronicling the alleged move by the CIA to sabotage the NS2 pipeline and blame it on Russian operators, potentially pushing Europe into kinetic WW3 with Russia.
What followed in the months after were several more seeming False Flag attacks on everything from the Kakhovka Dam to the Crimean Bridge, and while we don’t have airtight reporting on ALL of these events, the usual suspects seem to be involved every time.
I’ve been referring to the Biden State Department as the (Deep) State Department, and I think there’s a reason the Kremlin almost never addresses Biden himself, but DOES often address Antony Blinken and his cronies.
The kinetic, clandestine arm of the Deep State is real, it’s spelled C-I-A … and the American people are slowly being brought along to that realization.” —
US announces $345 million military aid package for Taiwan
The United States has announced $345 million in military aid for Taiwan, in what is the Biden administration’s first major package drawing on America’s own stockpiles to help Taiwan counter China.
The White House said Friday the package would include defense, education and training for the Taiwanese. Washington will send man-portable air defense systems, or MANPADS, intelligence and surveillance capabilities, firearms and missiles, according to two U.S. officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.
U.S. lawmakers have been pressuring the Pentagon and White House to speed weapons to Taiwan. The goals are to help it counter China and to deter China from considering attacking, by providing Taipei enough weaponry that it would make the price of invasion too high.
While Chinese diplomats protested the move, Taiwan’s representative office in the U.S. said the administration’s decision to pull arms and other materiel from its stores provided “an important tool to support Taiwan’s self-defense.” In a statement, it pledged to work with the United States to maintain “peace, stability and the status quo across the Taiwan Strait.” — AP News
Our Take: “There are headlines that don’t always map neatly onto the War of Stories refrain … and then there’s this one, which may as well act as its Narrative Deployment mascot in the current context of the Info War.
Many of us at Badlands have written and commented on the prospect that Ukraine is being used as a Proxy NOT for the Globalist Deep State these days, but rather as one for the Disclosure and Exposure of that Deep State regarding everything from international money and influence laundering to Proxy Wars and Proxy Presidents.
Through it all, the Biden Admin has been seen—according to the public Narrative—pledging massive monetary support to the little Prussian engine that could, all while Biden Crime Family corruption spins up in the public mind, much of it directly pointing to Ukraine.
As if that wasn’t serendipitous enough, we’ve now got the Biden Admin publicly supporting Taiwan’s military while towing a public line about their undying support for the ‘One China’ policy.
Ghosts in the media machine are going to jump the shark with this one, and the Collective Mind could start cracking as the powers that would be lead us toward the APPEARANCE of the brink of war with both Russia AND China at the same time.” —

“Defamation is extremely hard to prove and must include verifiably false statements". Except in the case of the trial of E. Jean Carroll who was awarded a shitload of money from Trump for defamation without any proof!!!
