The CBS Morning-Morons today (same as CNN from your reporting) spent 10-15 minutes screaming about what the affects of Trump's Tariffs will be on the poor small businesses and farmers across the United States.
FIRST - Free Trade is our goal. Tariff's are not necessarily a good thing as they are barriers to free trade.
SECOND - In a ceteris paribus universe (as the lameasses describe), these effects are possible.
BUT
THIRD - We do not live in a ceteris paribus universe. We do not have FREE TRADE now.
FORTH - pretty much all global entities today use trade barriers (tariffs, fees, VAT's against the US that make trade totally unbalanced.
FIFTH - Trump's goals is NOT to use tariffs as a revenue generator, but to use them as leverage to reduce other's protective barriers - creating a freer trade environment.
Will THEY ever try to explain this? Hell no!
Exactly why the other side of American politics fights this can be anyone's guess. It benefits someone. And I would posit that it is someone else and not us. We need to follow the money on that one.
They see Trump as their existential threat. He is shutting off their money stream. They hate him because he is willing to fight the economic war as if it were a war. He is willing to use our assets and strengths in improve the US's already advantageous position. And the WEF and its vassals have nothing to fight him off.

But, what could be done? Obama was the Commander-in-Chief of the military and they saw what happened to Dennis Montgomery when he tried to expose the crimes. He was destroyed and prosecuted.
