I think Trump is the problem for Bezos. Trump got to him and showed him the real future. It has nothing to do with his newspaper. It has everything to do with America reversing direction and putting Amazon on board.
I could be totally wrong, but that is how it makes sense to me.

As I see it Jeff Bezos became a billionaire by using the internet to help buyers get cheap stuff by bypassing the retail market. Cheap Chinese goods are the key because there was so much profit between the Chinese manufacturers and the retail American buyers. Bezos was cutting out all of the middlemen.
A newspaper doesn’t fit that plan in any way except he could use it to make Amazon look less evil. But what if China is going to be removed from the old system?
Our trade deficit with China was funding Congress’ deficit spending which was key to the Democrat’s wasteful spending sprees. Bezos was creating that deficit in a big way and I would say that made him a Leftist big time. But, he is a big time Capitalist!
Trump saw the need to set him straight. Bezos needed to figure out the bottom line of a winning strategy. Government growth isn’t it.

The real question is the belief of the WSJ writer. His belief is possible distorted by his education. I know mine was.
Until I learned about the Act of 1871, I would have argued persuasively the merits of inflation as taught by Keynes. I was taught it in ECON-101! But, if we apply it to the long run we find a 1900 dollar is worth 3 cents today.
What will bother me is learning these writers are well aware they are manipulating us intentionally. Democrat politicians do this daily and we are learning to see it and call it out.

Most likely it's about Israel. Attacking Hezbollah on the eve before the Iran deal signing is a big "fuck you" to Trump and his efforts to eliminate nukes that Iran would have for certain, used on Israel. As confusing as this situation sounds, Israel biting the hand that feeds them, there has to be more going on here. Are the Israeli's tired of the small piece of earth that was given to them, and they want more land to expand on? What's behind this obvious and blatant sabotage of Trump and the US efforts to quiet Iran? Personally, I would have tried to take out more of the supreme leader cadre so that the people of Iran could attempt to live normal lives- in particular, the women.
Trump is not done yet. The mullahs must be given every chance to show who they really are. If they are really Sovereign Alliance, they will find a way to show it. (Pretty clear they've left the Cabal, not so sure they've joined the Good Guys yet -- jury's still out.)
As for Israel, Bibi has strong personal motivation to keep the war going, because he's under serious indictments that could put him in prison for years. So long as he's PM, that is on hold. He's going to keep provoking and poking regardless of what Trump wants.
We shall see how that goes for him. Who knows, he could be deposed and in jail by this time next week.

LA mayor race a sting? Well, look at Nithya Ramen's behavior after the polls closed. In tears apologizing for not even winning her district? In what world do those who say she won legitimately live in? Who uses such melodramatic acting to concede?
White hat, no, but an actor or actress (women frequently in this day and age aren't always what they seem), all the same. Rumor has it that Spencer Pratt's candidacy was planned a long time ago. So I do not know if this was a sting, but would not be surprised if it was. I also wouldn't be surprised to find out if the talker was an infiltrator and that she isn't the only one.
What if part of the sting is to let Ramen win (install her, like Mandami), and and let her act like Mandami? With Israel acting like a bully, just taking over land irrespective of national boundaries? What would this accomplish? Who propped up the Democrat party in recent times?
Remember the civil war last year between the pro-Palestinian faction and the affluent Jews who reside mostly in large cities like New York or LA and vote Democrat always? I don't believe New Yorkers in a fair election would vote for Mandami, although I won't go so far as to say they would vote Republican. Maybe a New Yorker could chime in. So he was installed. By whom? Those running the sting. Why? I believe this is part of the takedown of the subversives in this country and to get real Jews who are religious and follow Judaism, to question their allegiances. Not to get them to switch parties: Republican Establishment is just as bad or worse than the Democrats, but to question. They are the most dependable block and by far the most successful demographic group who vote Democrat automatically almost like they do it without thinking.
Here is what people don't realize. The low level operatives have no incentive to protect the puppet masters. That is why law enforcement goes after the boots in the ground first because for the most part will sing like a canary. There isn't enough incentive for them to protect the controllers, even if they hate Trump. The fact that they publicly arrested someone and that someone is not a name we recognize as 'important' tells me there is some investigation going on and that this may very well have been a sting.

One thing that gets overlooked about the LA election - the focus is all on the mayoral, but there was a sales tax measure to increase the tax from 9.75% to 10.25% on the ballot that was losing 53.11% on election night. Magically, a week later, along with the surprise 'upset' in the mayoral race, the measure 'won' with 50.64% of the vote. Sure. (Even SF voted down the billionaire tax measure.)

Well, I've got to admit she's caught between a rock and a hard place, to quote an American slang expression.

Thankfully EU nations are generally moving to the right -- RN in France, AfD in Germany, Reform in UK, plus many of the former 'eastern bloc' -- all gaining strength. Despite all [their] efforts, Calin Georgescu keeps popping up in Romania, for instance.
It is a time of great uncertainty about the future around the world, and the EU is ground zero. Under left-wing control for so long that many people thought they would never lose power, but popular uprisings all over the place, trying to change things up against the resistance of the System.
