This absolutely should define our problem. The compounded growth of GDP has been 4.45% for 24 years while the Debt has compounded at a rate of 7.83%. This has to stop because it is killing America!
Another way to look at the same facts is the debt in 2000 was 55.3% of GDP. Today it is 124% of GDP. What was sustainable during the 20th century was 17 to 25% but was allowed to slowly increase over time. So, we lulled ourselves into accepting an unsustainable situation.

Compound growth was the key to America’s fantastic boom and was the proof of the brilliance of America’s founding father’s concept. But, compound loss is what is destroying America today. Why am I the only one explaining this rationally? My friends, this is just math! We have to take America back from the politicians who are selling us down the road. Let’s start with some education into the math behind our success and failure. It is the same mathematics.

Right now, products made in the USA are taxed in the form of income and other related taxes paid by their manufacturers, employees of those companies, their vendors and service providers... basically at almost every level. Foreign competitors are often untaxed, or very lightly taxed, even in some cases subsidized, by governments who use export policy as a means of gaining competitive advantage.
That changes overnight when the taxes are paid by the consumer when (s)he buys the product. Whether foreign or domestic made, the taxes are the same. This is fairly obvious, once someone points it out.
A consequence of this observation is that once one major economy in the world moves to a consumption tax, then soon all other countries will be forced to follow, to avoid losing market share and remain competitive.
Free of IRS terror and the 'sword of Damocles' hanging forever over our heads in the form of threatened IRS audits (which are often as much about tax revenue as Trump's trials are about justice), the US economy will take off like a skyrocket on the 4th of July.

There is nothing FAIR about 501 C and Foundations that pay NO TAX. I guess I just have ZERO TRUST for anything they come up with. Always seems to be a trick up their sleeves. It starts at 10% and then goes up every year until its 50% and 75%... Where is the Lottery Money that was supposed to relieve us of state and Federal taxes. How much are they making on fines? Licenses? Permits? We dont get to know any of that. Wheres the return on our money?

As for the foundations, including university endowments, they should be forced to wind down by distributing all of their assets, and accepting no new contributions, in a limited time -- say five years.
Also I suspect most here are not aware of the fact that 'charitable' foundations are actually required to distribute a small part of their assets each year (~1%) by donating to charitable causes. However, they can donate to each other and it counts. A big circle jerk, basically; they follow the letter of the law but give their middle finger to the intent.
