GBPH - I doubt that you have time to respond to comments here but in reading your Take about Putin's strategy being "a mercy" (to which I happen to agree) with the intent to "end this kinetic conflict" sooner than later, you (and those of us - like me - who agree with you) edge closer to a line that accepts a "ends justify the means" philosophy - BUT only if we agree with the ends being justified. Again I think I get it - but I wonder sometimes how my positions will sound when I explain them (and their results) to my grandchildren.
