Putin ought to handle that anti-NATO narrative by inviting Poland to help him in his war to stabilize Ukraine. West Ukraine, culturally centered around Lvov, is religiously Roman Catholic, and culturally more Polish. Most of Ukraine is Slavic. By saying he doesn't want to control Western Ukraine, he would be sending a loud signal about this nonsense that he wants to overrun Europe.
