Now, onto the news from the Weekend that Was …
Tucker Carlson out at Fox News
Fox News and Tucker Carlson, the right-wing extremist who used his prime time perch at the talk network to exert a firm grip over the Republican Party, have severed ties, the network said in a stunning announcement that rocked the media and political worlds Monday.
“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” Fox News said in a short statement that did not offer an explanation for his ouster, adding only that his last show was on Friday, April 21.
Carlson, the highest-rated single host at Fox News, did not respond to multiple requests for comment. The decision to part ways with Carlson was made Friday evening by Fox Corporation chief executive Lachlan Murdoch and Fox News chief executive Suzanne Scott, a person familiar with the matter said.
Carlson was informed of the decision on Monday morning, a second person familiar with the matter said. — CNN
Our Take: “I use CNN’s framing of Tucker Carlson’s firing on purpose, as I feel it’s a great example of the sort of pincer move the Media Industrial Complex seem to be caught in regarding the ‘departure’ of the most popular talking head—and one whose rhetoric has slid increasingly further into America First territory—in the United States.
Like many of my peers, I think the Net Effects of the Tucker news are going to be fascinating to behold.
Not only was he the most-watched host on legacy cable news, he was by an almost comically-wide margin, largely because of his willingness to touch subject matter (Ukraine-Russia, Petrodollar, Money Laundering) others refused to.
Wherever he goes next, a good portion of his viewership will absolutely leave FOX as a result, which is undoubtedly a GOOD thing.
The exposure of Con Inc. continues to accelerate.” — Burning Bright
CNN fires anchor Don Lemon in the wake of sexist comments, reported mistreatment of colleagues
CNN on Monday fired anchor Don Lemon in the wake of sexist on-air comments and reports that he mistreated female coworkers during his 17 years at the network.
An hour before Lemon announced his termination, Fox News said that right-wing prime-time host Tucker Carlson is leaving the cable network immediately. On Sunday, NBCUniversal said CEO Jeff Shell has left his role due to an “inappropriate relationship with a woman in the company.”
Lemon, who had hosted “CNN This Morning” as scheduled, said his agent informed him about his termination Monday morning. Lemon said he was “stunned” by the news. — CNBC
Our Take: “Now, there are still a precious few sorry souls traversing the wandering ways of the Information War who believe there’s such a thing as coincidence.
To them, I would simply submit the twin & congruent firings of Tucker Carlson and Don Lemon on the same Monday in April as direct evidence to the contrary.
As for the potential Net Effects of these congruent deployments by the MSM?
Conflates FOX and CNN as MSM corporations in the Collective Mind, even if the gap in standing between the two famous hosts within the America First movement could NOT be any wider.
Outs FOX to 'Normie' MAGA viewers still bestowing misplaced loyalty to a network that provided Narrative Shielding to the Election Fraud machine by calling Arizona for Biden on 11/3/20 and settling with Dominion for $800 Million. By making a move in firing Carlson on the same day CNN fires Lemon, FOX is kicking a hornet’s nest of Carlson supporters who see him being conflated with Lemon in the media cycle.
Continues the shared ratings collapse cascade of the Media Industrial Complex & further decentralizes information dissemination.” — Burning Bright
Trump ‘shocked’ to hear of Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox News
Former president Trump said he was surprised to hear Monday that Fox News had ousted one of its largest stars in Tucker Carlson.
“I was shocked. I’m surprised. He’s a very good person a very good man and very talented and he had very high ratings,” Trump said during an interview on Newsmax that aired late Monday. “He’s been terrific especially over the last year or so he’s been terrific to me.”
Fox sent shockwaves through the media and political ecosystem on Monday morning when it announced it had parted ways with Carlson, one of the most widely watched and influential figures in cable television.
The network gave no further details on Carlson’s departure beyond a statement that thanked him for his work for the company and said his last show was Friday.
[…]
Trump, who has grown increasingly critical of Fox in recent months, had urged Rupert Murdoch, the owner and chairman of Fox Corp. who was set to testify in a trial in the case, to embrace his theories about voter fraud in a bid to win in court.
“I was surprised they made a settlement in that case,” Trump said on Monday. “I thought that was a case that should easily be won … again the Tucker situation you don’t know if it was a firing, maybe he left because he wasn’t being given his free rein, he wants his free rein maybe but I was surprised by it.”— The Hill
Our Take: “As usual, POTUS follows up the seeded news cycle with absolute MOABS.
Seems to imply a timeline regarding Tucker's activation or turn in favor of Trump and the America First agenda, which implies some level of trolling & Info Warfare to me.
Follows it up with a dig at FOX that jibes with what many of us have been saying re: Dominion. FOX wasn't going after Dominion. They were deployed to Shield it, and to set legal and psychological precedent meant to harm the election reform movement.” — Burning Bright
Money-Supply Growth Fell To A 50-Year Low In Feb. Will The Fed Panic?
Money supply growth fell again in February, falling even further into negative territory after turning negative in November 2022 for the first time in twenty-eight years. February's drop continues a steep downward trend from the unprecedented highs experienced during much of the past two years.
Since April 2021, money supply growth has slowed quickly, and since November, we've been seeing the money supply contract for the first time since the 1990s. The last time the year-over-year (YOY) change in the money supply slipped into negative territory was in November 1994. At that time, negative growth continued for fifteen months, finally turning positive again in January 1996.
During February 2023, the downturn became even bigger as YOY growth in the money supply was at –6.6 percent. That's down from January's rate of –5.0 percent, and down from February 2022's rate of 6.9 percent. With negative growth now dipping below –6 percent, money-supply contraction is approaching the biggest declines we've seen in decades. At no point for at least sixty years has the money supply fallen by more than 5.6 percent in any month. — The Mises Institute
Our Take: “Monetary warfare.
In brief, the current monetary system, like the circulatory system in the body, builds up businesses in certain sectors for the benefit of the oligarchs. They can also starve out other businesses. With this tool, they can slowly, and without detection, radically change society, forcing citizens to participate in their schemes for a paycheck.
For instance, in the mid '90s, the Fed began to increase currency creation (money printing), inflating the money supply as a result. The money was lent to the emerging computer and big tech industries, which saw a rapid expansion all the way up to the dot-com bubble break at the turn of the millennium.
In effect, it was as if the world grew a third arm—the big tech arm, and this arm slowly began to take over older aspects of the economy, like telecommunications once dominated by the phone services and fax machines of the '60s, '70s, and '80s.
The insight here is that by looking at a) how much money is being pumped into the economy (or drained) and b) where that money flows (what industries,) we can predict shifts in the societal trends of our nation and civilization.
Understand that money in the modern age is lent into existence and that most, if not nearly all businesses use lent money to maintain their businesses (payroll, rents, debt servicing) and start new ones (start-ups). If the money supply is shrinking, it means portions of the economy are being starved out and excised. Almost like an economic scalpel or chemo-treatment, those sectors of the economy that aren't getting new loans due to less money and tighter bank restrictions are shrinking and dying off.
The people working in these areas have to find new jobs while previously occupied market share opens up for new business—oligarch funded business—to fill.
From the article, ‘...the monetary slowdown has been sufficient to considerably weaken the economy. Home prices have fallen. Credit card debt has soared, consumer loan delinquencies are up, job openings are falling, and the manufacturing outlook is falling.’
What's their plan? The oligarchs, in effect, stop the music in musical chairs game that is our economy. Some people and businesses are left without seats, kicking them out of the game. Those new, now desperate and starving people, are very eager to jump into new industries—the same new industries the oligarchs are seeking to launch for their new vision for the future. Furthermore, these same people, who might have resisted working for a new job due to a vaccine mandate, for instance, will be much more willing to compromise on their principles so they can support their families.
Presto!!
By slowing down the money printers, the oligarchs simultaneously starve out selected businesses and people, while forcing newly-demoralized people into their new industries—the same industries that will tighten their grip on the people.
What are these industries? Think Agenda 2030. Think neo-mRNA based biomedical fields, internet of things industries, and ‘green industries.’
They don't need to defeat us. They just need to out last us. This way, we come crawling back after having been starved out and demoralized. In doing so, we become cogs in the machines of control—paid enough to stay afloat ... for now.
The solution? Parallel economy. We must become our own banks, and stop using the toxic tools provided for us by our would-be masters, the oligarchs known as the international banking cartel. To do this, the law and the truth about money must be rediscovered and spread so we can form groups where new and healthy money systems can thrive, and take over what was once for the bankers only.” — Justin Deschamps
Bud Light Marketing Executive Goes On Leave After Disastrous Trans-TikTok Stunt
Anheuser-Busch InBev has made an abrupt decision to change the marketing leadership of Bud Light just three weeks after the brand attempted to position itself as the
kingqueen of "woke" beers with the help of a transgender TikTok influencer partnership.Ad Age reported Friday that Alissa Heinerscheid, vice president of marketing for the beer, has taken a leave of absence. Bud Light confirmed she would be replaced by Todd Allen, who was recently the global marketing vice president for Budweiser.
In order to prevent a market disaster similar to the one sparked by Heinerscheid, a spokesperson for the company stated that top-level execs will be closely monitoring Bud Light's marketing activities, adding that "these steps will help us maintain focus on the things we do best: brewing great beer for all consumers, while always making a positive impact in our communities and on our country." — ZeroHedge
Our Take: “For those of us who track the Info War in this community, one day’s sensationalist, paradigm-shifting headline is often regarded as the next day’s footnote.
That said, the Bud Light transgender controversy has lasted well over a week and a half in the national news cycle, with FAR more outlets than those tangential to the Culture War discussing it.
Perhaps the most interesting perspectives to be found on the ongoing saga are those in the legacy financial media, who are grudgingly admitting that Anheuser-Busch InBev might have actually made a catastrophic marketing ‘blunder’ that will see red in their fiscal ledgers for several quarters—and more—to come.
We’ve been shouting, ‘Get Woke, Go Broke’ from the MAGA rooftops for years … but by going full Tranny, it looks like AB might be going for the gold medal in that particular race.” — Burning Bright
We hope you enjoyed this brief look back at the major news items you might have missed in this ever-escalating and ever-accelerating news cycle as the Information War continues to rage on around us.
The Badlands Media team will continue to combine our cognitive powers in order to slow things down and find the signal amidst the noise as this series expands.
As always, if you have any thoughts on these news items or the MANY others swirling in the digital ether, drop into the comments below to share them with your fellow Badlanders.
My thoughts are that Fox News was captured as controlled opposition when Trump won the 2016 election. And what Fox did in the 2020 election by prematurely calling Arizona for Biden was the nail in the coffin for Fox. Many conservatives saw through it all, Fox’s disdain for President Trump. Tucker was the only one left holding up their ratings. So, I for one am glad to see Tucker moving on.
I look forward to seeing Tucker’s next project. He will make a big splash wherever he lands.
By the way, Chuck Schumer called for Tucker to be fired a few weeks ago. Did anyone else see that Tucker’s days at Fox were numbered? Tucker’s ratings meant nothing to Fox because they are also state run media and like the other MSM operations that suck, along with their ratings, someone will have their back$.
Again, just my thoughts.
My thought this morning:
1. Anybody who considers themselves a Patriot America First citizen MUST STOP WATCHING FOX. Strangle them - do not feed the enemy.
I gave up on them several years ago, but have been disappointed to hear fellow MAGA ppl watching crap like The Five etc. you are NOT GETTING NEWS - your are not getting entertainment - so what are you doing? Find ppl on Substack who do provide news and insights.
2. Continue the BOYCOTT of Bud Light. Give meaning to the words GO WOKE GO BROKE. Keep your money away from woke companies if you want to see change. There are plenty of other beers than to buy AB.
3. The Globalist Cabal are throwing everything at Trump and MAGA that they have left along with the kitchen sink.
Use your common sense and determination to shield yourself from believing ANYTHING they say. Liars.... Traitors .... Criminals they all are. Do not lose faith for yourself, Trump or our Constitution
4. When I hear “GOP SENATORS”are wanting Trump off the ballot bc they are “hurting” the GOO from winning in 2024 - notice that names are never attached to their statements. RINO POOP.
Don’t believe a word of it - it is the same jerks that are in cahoots w/ the Dems and Commies. It is more propaganda and nonsense
5. I am getting angry they are able to continue to escalate - and my biggest concern is that we have NOT secured proper voting situations to stop cheating for the 2024 elections.
Even here in FLORIDA, DeSantis Isn’t taking care of it!! (That alone should be enough to shut up the DeSantis ppl for POTUS talk)
I will save the rest of my rant for another day. I need to raise my vibration now. Sunny day helps.
