This is such great advice - especially for those of us (and it seems to be a large percent) who relish these daily briefs and also acknowledge the bigger picture: spiritual warfare of Biblical prediction and proportion! When one accepts that the Creator of the miracle of rational thought still chooses to involve Himself in our daily affairs, for reasons of His own, standing on the pillar and ground of Truth is always appropriate.
I remind myself that Jesus told us that - for now - His role is not to judge the world (judgment is built into the choice to deny Him) but to save the world (sozo in the Greek which includes the ideas of rescue and ransom) - what Isaiah meant by the Great Day of the Lord. The Terrible Day will come, in the meantime my hope should rest in the re-awakening and regenerating of the masses.
