The Cost of Kamala: Stocks Plunge After Presidential Debate and Higher Core Inflation
Investors on Wednesday appeared to reassess the risks that Kamala Harris could win the presidential contest, sending the major stock indexes plunging on the morning after the debate between Harris and Donald Trump.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by more than 550 points, or 1.4 percent. The S&P 500 declined by 1.1 percent and the Nasdaq Composite was off by 0.70 percent.
Harris has said she would seek to hike a broad range of taxes, including taxes on corporate profits, unrealized capital gains, and the incomes of wealthier Americans. Many investors and Wall Street analysts think these taxes would weigh heavily on stocks.
Adding to the woes of the market on Wednesday was the report that the consumer price index showed core inflation, which excludes food and energy prices, unexpectedly heated up in August. Core prices were up 0.3 percent in August, compared with expectations of 0.2 percent. In July, core prices rose 0.2 percent.
The inflation report has forced traders to rethink how far the Fed will go when it cuts interest rates next week and in the months to come. The market had been expecting even odds that the Fed would announce a cut of 50 basis points or 25 basis points. After the inflation report, the odds of a larger cut sank significantly. — Breitbart
Our Take: I woke up to the immediate debate reactions, as it was still night time in the states — EOTS was still on the air. The headlines were that Kamala had won, and I thought, ‘Well, that can’t be true.’ You know, because she is an inarticulate and incompetent moron.
Checking back in later in the day, as the overnight stories and reactions come in, I see that the markets have plummeted, indicating that Kamala did, in fact, have a stronger than expected performance. The markets hate Marxism.’
I haven’t watched the debate yet. I’ll likely do that tonight, but it is noteworthy that the majority of commentary on X stands in opposition to the leading takes of the MSM.
Again.
So, both the social platforms and the public markets are rejecting Harris. That is both expected and exemplary.
I’ll take the power of people over the pompous political pundits every day of the week. —
House Republicans bemoan Trump debate performance: ‘Not good’
House Republicans are bemoaning former President Trump’s performance in the first — and potentially only — debate against Vice President Harris, acknowledging that the Democratic nominee successfully got under her GOP opponent’s skin.
Several times throughout the more than 90-minute debate in Philadelphia, Harris appeared to try to bait Trump with attacks on matters that hit close to home — the size of his rallies, the magnitude of his family fortune, world leaders “laughing” at him — in an effort to thwart his composed posture. Some House Republicans say she succeeded.
“I’m just sad,” one House Republican who is supportive of Trump told The Hill. “She knew exactly where to cut to get under his skin. Just overall disappointing that he isn’t being more composed like the first debate.”
“The road just got very narrow,” they added. “This is not good.”
A second House Republican, who requested anonymity to discuss the sensitive topic, said “many” in the GOP conference were “disappointed” that Trump could not stay on message throughout the debate.
“She talks to us like toddlers but is doing a good job provoking him. He [is] right on policy but can’t keep to a message,” the lawmaker said. “Many are disappointed he couldn’t stay focused or land a punch. Not sure much changes but it wasn’t a good performance.”
“Lots of missed opportunities so far,” a third House Republican told The Hill in a text message during the debate. “It’s not devastating – but it’s not good.” — The Hill
Our Take: Days like these afford commentary cretins and the bought and paid for Con Inc. doom brigade the opportunity to show you exactly who they are.
Not only did Trump win the fake debate if you’re not an absolute tapwater goblin incapable of critical thinking … the debate happening in the first place is another in a long line of humiliation rituals the American people have been forced to endure in the current zeitgeist.
The American people are not just tired … they’re angry, and Trump is their totem.
The deeper the enemy and those who defend them by proxy dig themselves in, the greater the public mandate for the gloves to come off on all layers of the Info War.
The mood is shifting from one of memetic shock as was the case following the Trump-Biden debate to one of stretched and cracking tension.
That’s a feature of the Great Awakening, not a bug.
Let the sifting accelerate, and let the mass psychological, political and cultural chips fall where they may.
The only way out is through. —
China's Li, Saudi crown prince discuss cooperation in Riyadh meeting
Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman discussed cooperation in several sectors including energy, investment and trade in a meeting in Riyadh on Wednesday, the Saudi state news agency SPA reported.
Earlier, Li had urged Beijing and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which includes Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, to accelerate free trade negotiations.
Li made his remarks in a meeting in Riyadh with GCC Secretary General Jasem al-Budaiwi, Chinese state news agency Xinhua said.
SPA reported that al-Budaiwi had stressed the importance of moving forward and finalising the trade talks in the "near future".
The free trade negotiations have stalled over concerns by Saudi Arabia about cheap Chinese imports, with sources telling Reuters in May that the talks were at an impasse.
Saudi Arabia is worried that a wave of lower cost Chinese versions of products that it hopes to manufacture domestically would be damaging to its industrial agenda, the sources said.

Our Take: Two days after my man, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), hosted Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Riyadh, he hosts the Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
In a span of 48 hours, MBS has personally met with diplomats from the two pillars of the Sovereign Alliance—not the heads of state. The pageantry of the visit did not disappoint:
As I said on Tuesday, something big is brewing in the Middle East. I think the Sovereign Alliance is positioning itself to take down the Unipolar [Globalist] Hegemony.
Saudi Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan, issued a devastating statement of the failed globalist hegemony and its criminal "rules based international order."
While MBS was busy hosting China back home, his Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan, has been in Cairo meeting with the Arab League. Turkey is attending the meeting for the first time in 13 years—since the Arab Spring, which was a large-scale Operation Gladio op launched against all Arab countries in 2011, and publicly backed by Turkey, NATO and the West.
Turkey—populated mostly by Turks, not Arabs—is not part of the Arab League, but neighboring nations are often invited to attend as guests and even to address the group. Such an invitation was extended to Turkish Foreign Minister Hikan Fidan, who called on the Arab League to unite against Israel.
Last month, Ukrainian Presidential Office head Andriy Yermak told Bloomberg that the next Ukraine peace summit would likely be held in the Middle East. More recently, President Zelensky has asserted that both Saudi Arabia and Turkey are the front runners to host, though his preference would be to hold it in India after meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kiev.
Interestingly enough, India had its diplomats in Riyadh on Monday meeting alongside the Russian Foreign Minister and Gulf Cooperation Council.
So if it isn't obvious by now, the Sovereign Alliance is taking matters into its own hands, and solving both the Israel and Ukraine conflicts, simultaneously— because the two wars are inextricably linked.
But what we are really lacking, up until this point, is a PR moment between Kim Jong Un and MBS. In fact, I searched the X account of the Saudi Foreign Ministry, and they have never once posted about North Korea, which is odd, because they have posted about even the most obscure and unknown countries, as MBS calls all of them on their respective independence days to congratulate them.
So we now have that moment to anticipate. It's important to note that MBS did host South Korea last year in a pretty extravagant display, which resulted in a number of trade and security deals signed between the two countries. There were a number of great photos to come out of the meeting, but this one struck me, in particular, for reasons that I'm sure this audience will understand:
(Tell me those two pictures a complete coincidence.)
You might think I'm being silly, but I'm not. I think that MBS is cozying up to South Korea, while Putin cozies up to North Korea, and those partnerships may very well result in the reconciliation of the Korean peninsula, at some point in the future.
The world desperately needs an MBS/Kim-Jong-Un bromance. If the Ghosts in the Machine could have Dennis Rodman attend, that would be spectacular. (I know it's a tall order, but I have faith in your ability to deliver. Just contact the producers of the Celebrity Apprentice, and they can put you in touch with his people.)
PS - Rodman's Trumpamania stage name is "The Worm," which was his nickname in the NBA. Keeping it simple. —
Conservative Billionaire Wants To 'Crush' Leftist Media
Leonard Leo, a conservative billionaire activist who was responsible for the driving force behind the conservative movement to reshape the American legal system, recently started a $1 billion campaign to “crush liberal dominance” in American corporations, mass media and the entertainment industry.
Leo, who became famous for helping to make the Supreme Court conservative during Donald Trump’s first presidential term, said his non-profit group, the Marble Freedom Trust, is prepared to make the government and the private sectors conservative.
“We need to crush liberal dominance where it’s most insidious, so we’ll direct resources to build talent and capital formation pipelines in the areas of news and entertainment, where leftwing extremism is most evident,” Leo told the Financial Times.
According to him, the company would achieve this by helping anti-woke organizations.
“Expect us to increase support for organizations that call out companies and financial institutions that bend to the woke mind virus spread by regulators and NGOs so that they have to pay the price for putting extreme leftwing ideology ahead of consumers,” Leo said.
Trending Politics reported that Leo is a prominent conservative figure in American politics primarily known for reshaping the American legal system. — Headline USA
Our Take: This is the way. Reclaiming the institutions is a noble goal that many in our movement have abandoned. I get it; the institutions have been trash for most, if not all, of my adult lifetime.
The institution of journalism — specifically, telling the people the truth of the matter, regardless of who it implicates — is a noble institution. I knew that as a 15 year old writing my journalism school entrance essay, and I still believe it today. The endeavor is noble, even if the current actual is entirely corrupted.
It’s easy to be jaded and throw the journalistic baby out with the corporate-funded bath water, but journalism is as important today as it was during the times of town criers. Leonard Leo gets it, and I hope he succeeds.
Now combine Leo’s stated ambition with that of Elon Musk. Musk is championing a reduction in the size of government and the elimination of its waste — also a noble endeavor that will, if done correctly, deliver the extinction of entire institutions for being either unconstitutional or unnecessary — or both.
If Musk succeeds, and we should all pray that he does, the remaining institutions will comprise essential aspects of American life. The Fourth Estate — journalism — once reclaimed in conservative principles, as envisioned here by Leo, will ensure those remaining institutions stay both necessary and constitutional.
This is the actual work of making America great again. Again, this is the way. —
Taylor Swift endorses Kamala Harris for president after debate ends
Taylor Swift, one of the music industry’s biggest stars, endorsed Kamala Harris for president shortly after the presidential debate ended.
“I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” Swift wrote late Tuesday in an Instagram post, which included a link to a voter registration website.
Swift has a dedicated following among young women, a key demographic in the November election, and her latest tour has generated more than $1 billion in ticket sales. In a half hour, the post received more than 2.3 million likes. — AP News
Our Take: Yesterday, we covered how the regime was pressuring Taylor Swift to endorse Kamala Harris. Following last night’s debate, the pop princess relented with a lukewarm take about her feelings and picture of her cat.
It’s fascinating to me that any normal person — one who works and pays bills and buys groceries— cares what a pampered and spoiled elitist has to say about politics. It’s not surprising, just fascinating. At my core, I believe in my countrymen and, with that, Taylor’s political sway is at odds.
Taylor doesn’t work a job or pay bills or buy groceries. Judging by her lyrics, she’s sad and lonely, but I’m sure her vast wealth and self importance numbs the misery. Her current tour surpassed $1B in ticket sales.
If a Haitian tried to eat Taylor Swift’s cat, her men with guns would shoot the poor refugee and Taylor would be painted as the victim — not as a xenophobic racist like normal people whose normal cats are eaten by normal Haitians every day.
Like I said, it’s fascinating that her opinion on real life is newsworthy. I guess childless cat ladies stick together regardless of their station in life. How devastatingly, but ultimately unsurprisingly, sad. —
Biden dons Trump hat, gets called ‘old fart’ in visit to Shanksville, Pa. fire station on 9/11 anniversary
President Biden briefly put on a red Trump hat Wednesday during a visit to a fire station in Shanksville, Pa., where he was ruthlessly ridiculed by one of the former president’s supporters.
As the president mingled with first responders after marking the 23rd anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, it appears he offered to trade one of his hats for the Trump supporter’s cap, video posted by TikTok user shows.

Are you sure we aren’t watching a movie?

Harris campaign challenges Trump to 2nd presidential debate
Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign called for a second presidential debate soon after she wrapped up her first one with former President Trump on Tuesday night.
The latest: Trump initially said during a live post-debate interview on Fox News that he'd "have to think about it" and that Harris wanted a second debate "because she lost," but when host Sean Hannity pushed him on it Trump said: "Maybe if it was on a fair network."
Hannity suggested he could moderate a second debate, which Fox News proposed on Tuesday could take place in October, "like I did" with California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
"I think it would be fair. You would be fair, actually, you want to know the truth," Trump said.
The big picture: Trump took Harris' bait throughout the evening, often making rambling statements or unleashing personal attacks that are unlikely to appeal to moderate voters. — Axios
Israel Offers Hamas Leader Safe Exit From Gaza in Bid to End War
Israel proposed giving Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar safe passage out of Gaza in exchange for the group freeing the hostages it holds and giving up control of the strip, a senior official said, even as doubts deepen about the two sides’ ability to reach any cease-fire accord.
“I’m ready to provide safe passage to Sinwar, his family, whoever wants to join him,” Israel hostage envoy Gal Hirsch said in an interview Tuesday in the Bloomberg News Washington bureau. “We want the hostages back. We want demilitarization, de-radicalization of course — a new system that will manage Gaza.”
Hirsch said he put the offer of safe passage on the table a day and a half ago and declined to characterize the response so far. He reiterated that Israel would also be willing to release prisoners it holds as part of any deal.
Hirsch described the offer as part of an effort to come up with new solutions as prospects for a cease-fire look more and more dim. The US, Qatar and Egypt are working to present Israel with a new cease-fire proposal, but Hirsch said Hamas has so far sought to dictate terms rather than negotiate.
It’s unclear whether Hamas would accept the proposal for Sinwar to leave Gaza, especially given Israel’s history of operations targeting operatives abroad. Israel hasn’t taken responsibility for the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on July 31 in Tehran. But Iran has said the killing — Haniyeh was slain in a bomb blast at a Tehran guest house — was Israel’s handiwork. — Bloomberg
US House to vote on Mike Johnson’s controversial government funding bill
The House will vote on Wednesday on a government funding package that appears doomed to fail in the divided Congress, as Democrats and a handful of Republicans voice concerns about the two-pronged proposal.
The House Republican speaker, Mike Johnson, has combined a six-month stopgap funding bill with the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (Save) Act, a controversial proposal that would require people to show proof of citizenship when they register to vote.
Donald Trump has further complicated Johnson’s efforts by insisting on Tuesday that Republicans should not pass any government funding bill without addressing “election security”, as he leveled baseless accusations against Democrats of “trying to ‘stuff’ voter registrations with illegal aliens”.
Johnson’s bill would extend government funding until 28 March, more than two months after the new president takes office in January. If Congress does not take action on federal funding this month, the government could shut down starting 1 October.
“I believe we can fund the government responsibly, and I believe that we can do right by the American people and ensure the security of our elections,” Johnson said on Tuesday. “And I defy anybody to give me any logical argument why we shouldn’t do that. That’s why I’m so resolute about this.” — The Guardian

Wow... the whining Republicans sound like a couple of my friends who watch tv...depressed about the debate. But Badlands are patriots and just had me thinking Trump did it on purpose, so she'll do another one. Brilliant. I can't get enough of the Sovereign Alliance and all the countries coming on board. If Christians would start acting like the Sovereign Alliance we could end this quicker. Thanks for uplifting news! I'm sharing this with my whiner friends!!
