Ivan Provorov is a modern day hero for standing up for his faith in the Word of God. He has courage to put his career on the line and to refuse to turn his back on his faith in God. How many in the NHL have done this? Most keep silent and go along. God bless Ivan Provorov. He has a moral compass which steadily points him to True North.
the sudden virtue signaling on every topic by corporations and now sports teams is nonsense. after the george floyd incident, i got e-mails everyday from airline companies, colleges, movie studios, you name it letting me know that they, as an entity felt the proper way about what had happened.
frankly i don't give a rat's ass how an airline company feels about george floyd. i only care about their commitment to safety, on time departures and not losing my luggage. i want my bank to keep my money safe and give me a bit of interest. it's irrelevant to me that all their employees have been through racial bias training.
the Spoleto Arts Festival (where i was the costume director since 1982 until they kicked me out over my refusal to be vaccinated) boasts a massive "Black Lives Still Matter" sign on their warehouse. driving by on the interstate, you might think it was the headquarters of the local BLM chapter and not the scene shop of a major arts festival since their sign is not displayed. like people who fly the ukranian flag but not the american one!
this forced support of LBGQRSTUVWXYZ in macho sports seems especially absurd. how many gay football players have there been in the history of the game? ice hockey players? boxers? these sports are hard core testosterone driven proxies for war. the men who play them and the men who watch the games let off that male steam that, if pent up, might lead them to beat their wives or be unsuitable for life in a civilized community.
i owned a NYC theatrical costume shop and in my 40 years in business, i met exactly 2 heterosexual male costumers. all my male employees were gay because, surprise, surprise- straight men don't gravitate towards making frocks.
we keep telling men that they are somehow toxic (as if toxic femininity wasn't a thing!) but without all that masculinity, what would sports be? if we succeed in pussifying men, who will defend us when we need defending?
i'll take a room full of men any day over a nest of clucking hens!
There are many positives to this story. A young man with integrity, who is authentic, courage both athletically and personally and stands by his faith in a propaganda war against all things Russian. Add to this the coach who potentially could have lost his job simply because of his moral compass that allowed this young man to stand for something.

Unfortunately, everyone going out and spending a couple hundred bucks for an NHL jersey really benefited no one BUT the woke-ass NFL. Of course, it is a wonderful sentiment- but not useful or smart because in the end- you wind up supporting what you are trying to stand up against; and kind of smacks of leftist nutjobs virtue signaling with their blue & yellow flags, rainbow EVERYTHING, fashion masks, etc.
What Provorov did was great, and deserves accolades and support. Just too bad people couldn't come up with a better way to do that, than filling the coffers of the NHL. Betting some mother WEFer came up with it and a few hundred well intentioned but not very thoughtful people jumped on the bandwagon.
