I'm actually in Illinois, a County near the Mississippi and Illinois rivers in SW IL. I mentioned Branson because some other people have suggested it as a site for GART, and it would be within driving distance for me.
That's a beautiful part of MO. I had an Uncle who had a cabin on Lake of the Ozarks many years ago, that I visited when I was a kid.
If I were younger I'd consider moving out of Illinois to a small place like you have, semi off grid.

I looked up Belgian Malinois. Nice breed of dog, a shepherd. I don't care for German Shepherds but the Belgian seems to have different traits. Do you have any goats or sheep?
