My question is : what is the point of having a Church Style committee and investigation if it is still not transparent? All the time and money and we may not see even a quarter of the information. Wouldn't that money and time be better spent clearing out the programs and putting safety's in place, if that is even possible?

"In January 1973, MKULTRA records were destroyed by Technical Services Division personnel acting on the verbal orders of Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, Chief of TSD. Also - for what it is worth, I remember reading on some site, years ago, that this was the time that GHW Bush became Director of the CIA, and he was selected quite possibly to shut down or minimize the damage from the Church Committee to the CIA/Intelligence community.
During the 1970's I was living in the Washington area and working as a botanist in the US National Herbarium of the Smithsonian Institution.
As I read the accounts of the Church Commission, I could not help but compare it to today's atmosphere. There were serious adults in the room then. Yesterday, I heard Shiff's bleatings and Swalwell's whining after Speaker McCarthy removed them from the Intelligence Committee. Today's Democrats don't even pretend to care about the country or the citizens (their bosses).
It is time for a serious discussion of the CIA, FBI, IRS, etc. Some of them are too rotten to be "fixed" and should be shut down. When the CIA is colluding with the 5-eyes to spy on American citizens, when the FBI might give you a visit for speaking out at a school board or other public meeting, when the IRS HAD plans for 87,000 new and armed agents to intimidate "We the People", it is high time to ask if they have outlived their purpose?
Had so many in today's society read the Bible instead of trying to oust it, perhaps they would have stumbled across Proverbs 16:18: “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” We are bearing witness to the fruits of their arrogant labors. Go, Jim Jordan and others.....
