My impression, however, was - and is - that the guy wreaks of the swamp in regard to his education; his businesses; those with whom he associated himself educationally, commercially and personally and his RAPID, fairytale "assent to power". What sealed it was the "Hillbilly Elegy" book and (maybe most telling) the NETFLIX (home to "Cuties" and the Obamas' series) movie about his "triumph over adversity" and rise to power, fame and fortune -- an overweight, bullied and abused fatherless kid who lacked self-confidence and self-respect, from a financially-strapped family with a history of addiction and fairly obvious mental and interpersonal/relationship "issues" who becomes successful in the world of the elites -- both of which seem to be OBVIOUS propaganda to get normies to like and admire him for his ability to overcome adversity, compete and win against high-brow elites on their playing field, find (multicultural) love, "make something of himself", and generally be someone who - "against all odds" - "done good" in the "big bad world" that had seemingly been against him since Day 1, all while maintaining core American values that were (somehow) rooted in his humble beginning. "Methinks he doth bs too much."
It's easy to see that JDV's connections and ability to bring in tech sector oligarchs' support and funding, his appeal to voters in key "flyover" states, his military service, his business experience and his (albeit brief) legislative experience, OSTENSIBLY, make him a desirable choice. Big business or small business has no bearing on our problems except both are the solution. Business in general pays for everything in America, including our damned government! Once we figure this out, everything will make sense.
America is confused. We have been sold the idea that bigger government can solve the problems big government has created for us. Ask yourself, “Does this make any sense”?
I understand business as I have my degree in it and broke through the glass ceiling in business. My problem is the association with particular businesses like Big Pharma, which I know well from having Merck, Pfizer, and Burroughs Welcome as clients. Since the Covid scam, most Americans are somewhat skeptical and rightly so.
In business there are good players and bad players. It is better said as players who obey the rules and players who cheat. Government is often used to aid and abet cheating and this is what makes lobbyists rich. They know how to work the system to advantage. Most business plays fair and knows what their customers want and need. They understand supply and demand. Cheaters understand cheating.

You are right, that is worth reading! But, it actually misses a part of our problem. The whole reason this exists as the postulate suggests is because our system appears to work. That tends to fool everyone at all levels.
Borrowing to fund our deficit seems to work because, so far, America has not failed. That confuses us because we all know that we cannot exist this way. We cannot take on more and more exorbitant debt without going belly-up.
Politicians think it works because it works for them. My problem is I know the climax. It doesn’t end well for anyone who is caught up in our Ponzi scheme.
There is a solution but it demands a total reset and Trump is doing it right now. It requires the killing of Socialism and the Socialists hate that idea. So, they decided to kill Trump. Thank God they failed!

A good chunk of the debt could be paid off by decertifying all of those obnoxious 'charitable foundations' out there and taking their assets to pay down the national debt. Those foundations have a lot of assets, but they're run by a bunch of crooks. I suspect this is part of Trump's plan to 'make America whole again.'
Then the next challenge is to stop it from happening again. A balanced budget clause in the Constitution would be a good start. 'Congress shall make no further appropriations until any debt owed by the United States is paid off.' That does not stop them from taking on (modest) debt during an emergency, but it does require them to pay it off before spending any more.
True. My husband was a director on Wall Street and was in meetings where they told the government officials exactly how much money they could expect and what their tax rate would be. Corporations run the government to a great effect, which is illegal and wrong. A big part of Trump's appeal is his promise to bring business back to the US.

The difference between the old Republican Party and the Trump era party is actually quite simple. In fact it actually goes back to Ronald Reagan. Reagan was forced to deal with the realities of the 1981 to 1989 party which caused him to cut deals with Tip O’Neal to bail out our Social programs.
That system had evolved over decades and relied on the Federal Reserve’s credit card that was bankrupting America. Reagan chose to kick the can rather than expose the true problem.

I am very concerned about JD Vance. It appears that his senate campaign financeer, Peter Thiel, founded Palantir, a data mining company. Whose data do you think they are mining? Palantier has also made some large donations to the republican party. Hmmm. There is also some talk about a company called Ambrosia, now out of businees, who may have been involved in some nefarious activity which I won't spell out here. I understand that Vance was involved with this company. The info is researchable. I trust Trump but I don't understand this pick.

I knew there was a lot more to choosing Vance as Trump will NOT copy his first term and he makes no decision lightly. He is willing to listen to those who he might disagree with in order to return this country back to focus on the Constitution….that includes removing ALL unconstitutional (and very profitable to the cabal’s minions) bureaucracies in DC. That is a very good thing. Bolton and the others are still spouting the party line to maintain their evil sources of money laundering in Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. Your comment that Vance's military background would be unimportant to many is telling, and I believe correct. It shows a real disconnect with the people. Also, Vance is from the Scots-Irish community, traditionally suspicious of centralized power sense they suffered from it in Scotland and Ireland, as well as after migrating to America. (Hillbilly - from being supporters of William of Orange in his fight against James II. And many lived in the hills because of the policies of the coastal elites in America.)
