Wild Bill. I wanted to let you know that Iβm following this thread β greatly cornerned about our friend, Trumpist, and am about to dive into all the links he sent. (Had missed them)
Thank you, brother for coming beside him with your prayers & encouragement β we ought to resume this thread β keep it as a kind of Trumpist/French resistence headquarters to rally & pray. What think you?? Blessings! π«π·πΊπΈππ½βοΈππΌπ
Please don't forget our dear friends Featherjourney, ALtab and her Hubby, EternallyHis, and so much more very nice and kind people around here I just can thank and bless for their help and prayers!
I'm deeply grateful to all of them!! ππ»ππ»
I havenβt forgotten them! Thank you and Blessings Everyone!!
Since itβs impossible to address more than one at a time, I click βlikeβ & hope theyβll revisit & read all the others. This threadβs become dense & convoluted π. One of us needs to get a substack page started!
So, π₯° Featherjourney, ALtab and Hubby, and all the brothers and sisters βgreetings and gratitude and Blessings of Jesus Christ to you all!
( Iβm keeping this window open & will be checking for new posts. β¦Itβs becoming a full-time job! π)
Dippinβ candles and polishing like crazy these days. They work well together, donβt they? I think I will light a candle this evening with a mirror behind it, just to imbed the image. Thank you, Featherjourney!
I had to look that up and I love it!! Thanks for sharing that, Trumpist. It is beautiful β€οΈπΊπΈπ«π·π
β In a dark time the eye begins to seeβ: these words by American poet Theodore Roethke eloquently highlight how, in times of great despondency and despair, we can ironically identify ways of seeing that may be beneficial when the darkness lifts.β
I think it means that oftentimes in a dark and difficult time, people find Godβ¦and after the difficulties pass, there is a new and stronger spiritual relation with our Creator.
I thought the Latin phrase was beautifulβ¦hopeful β€οΈ
I'm not sure of Latin but in Spanish the verb 'esperar,' no doubt derived from the Latin, means 'wait' rather than 'hope.' To me that is more affirmative, as in we wait for something we expect to happen, whereas we hope for something uncertain.
It is my blessing and my honor to be able to support many friends in this wonderful community. This is something we can do while we wait hopefully for the Light of Reformation to return to this world, in France and soon, elsewhere.
Most of us will not be able to physically battle evil in these dark days; however this is a war of ideas and words much more than actual kinetic force. A 'Narrative War' as Burning Bright is apt to say. So what we say here gives encouragement and spreads the word of what is happening, to many more than just the people who write these comments. For everyone who comments, there are likely hundreds who read... all of them are also our audience.
May the Light of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you today. πβππ

Hi Featherjourney!
I read your comment several times and don't actually know what you find beautiful ... π₯΄
If it's the Latin sentence, it had been written to me by our dear friend Dick, and I won't claim it ! π
Your poetic words are beautiful and very hopeful: nice choice ! ππ»

It was the motto of the City of Geneva, after the dark ages, while waiting for the Reformation:

'After the darkness, I wait for the light.'
Hello Wild Bill !
Glad to read your explanation that allows me to understand the wide meaning of this Latin expression !
I wouldn't have think about the history of Reform an protestantism ...
In any case, Grace and Glory go to God ! ππ»βοΈποΈ
Amen!
~HOPE~
General meaning: feeling of expectation, a desire or wish for a certain thing to happen.
Biblical meaning: an expectation with certainty that God will do what he has said.
Blessings all!
Amen ! ποΈβοΈ
Yes I confess I do believe... π
In God I do trust and believe ππ»βοΈ
