Even the so called "organic" foods you have to watch out for. I recently purchased a couple of bags of Our Family brand organic blue corn tortilla chips. Labeled Organic, ingredients all listed as organic (organic blue corn, organic sunflower oil, sea salt), but next to the expiration date stamp printed on the bag it reads: "contains bioengineered food ingredients." I've never trusted any Organic labeling because of all the lies we are fed and who really knows for sure anyway. Anyone can put a Certified stamp on a package, but are there really any watchdogs out there to verify these things? Unfortunately, I did not notice the bioengineered statement on the package until after I had eaten one of the bags of chips. Normally that labeling is listed under the ingredients list. Sneaky bastards labeled it where I wasn't expecting it to be! Lesson learned.
