I've never trusted any Organic labeling because of all the lies we are fed and who really knows for sure anyway. Anyone can put a Certified stamp on a package, but are there really any watchdogs out there to verify these things? Unfortunately, I did not notice the bioengineered statement on the package until after I had eaten one of the bags of chips. Normally that labeling is listed under the ingredients list. Those levels of accountability may be a foreign concept to the masses - but have always made me snicker when DA's and lawyers and political office holders act offended (or worse, surprised) when they are asked to recall and disclose their activities which are 1) directly related to their jobs, 2) may be perceived as being unethical or 3) may have the suggestion of a conflict of interest.

I believe I mentioned this before, however, we are now seeing the fruits of what has been going on for years. In the mid-1970's I was part of the Smithsonian Institution's "Endangered Species Project" (now that is another story which needs telling). There were 2 women who were working on a project to identify areas for potential conservation. They were always trying to get my data for plant distribution. One had a MA in Forestry from Yale ..... a good Forestry School at the time. The other had done articles for National Geographic. I observed their willingness to play fast and loose with data to arrive at their agendas. One day I said to the Yale graduate: "If you fudge your data or fib, when the general public catches on.....and they will....academia will be forever trying to get their reputation back."

Who "trusts the science", medicine, academia, government, judges, companies, FBI, CIA......I could go on and on, but you know the drill. The damage and destruction to society when people can get away with lying about anything and everything is monumental.

I spent 40 years in the financial services industry, including banking, life and health insurance, investments and advisory services. I still hold several FiNRA Series licenses and am a CFP. In that industry (of which there are around 8 million employees - which is coincidentally the number of ACTUAL votes...but I digress) there are several levels of disclosure required on an annual or even quarterly basis (which are retained for as long as you are registered). These disclosures impose a significant degree of accountability on each individual's capacity to document their behaviors and to parse nuanced legal concepts in relation to those behaviors in respect to their jobs, their political contributions, their personal investments in stocks, muni bonds, real estate. private equity, IPO's and the like (including those of close family members), etc. For example, as a Series 24 (Supervisory Principal), even acts of fraud performed by those I supervised could place my personal assets at risk from civil lawsuits and bar me from the industry. Those levels of accountability may be a foreign concept to the masses - but have always made me snicker when DA's and lawyers and political office holders act offended (or worse, surprised) when they are asked to recall and disclose their activities which are 1) directly related to their jobs, 2) may be perceived as being unethical or 3) may have the suggestion of a conflict of interest.
My point - I guess - is that if anyone thinks it is even remotely plausible that these folks don't remember...(fill in the blank with the most egregious example that comes to mind), be assured that they are either lying, incompetent, or both.

Exactly my point. I don't have the answers except in a general sense: "shorter" and "a lot longer than filling a gas tank" and "much more expensive." So much so that many EVs that get in wrecks have to be totaled, because the batteries are an integral part of the frame. You can't just put it up on the rack and tweak it back into square, like you can with an ICV.
BTW I drive older ICVs, basically keep 'em 'til they quit. No EVs here. Which is why I can't give you exact answers, though of course the actual answers do vary significantly under the circumstances. For one, an EV's range is significantly shorter at cold ambient temperatures. Which is why you'll see more of them in California than in Montana.
